Elizabeth Sekopelo from Khutsong, Carletonville, was on the verge of selling herself after several cries for a bursary to further her studies had fallen on deaf ears. But a letter to the kwaito star's bursary scheme has turned the girl's life around.
Having matriculated five years ago, with unemployed parents, the girl envisaged a future of prostitution. Nobody was as surprised as I was when they called me. Not only is it a load off my mind but that of my parents as well.
After I worked in a clothing shop in Carletonville but left to train as a call centre consultant. Unfortunately my money ran out and I still owe those people. I even considered becoming a prostitute because of somebody I know. She told me she was a student by day and a prostitute by night. She claims she has everything," Sekopelo said.
