Though the Spanish may have a reputation for their Latin lotharios and sexy seductresses, the nation has not always enjoyed a liberal attitude towards sex. A largely catholic country, sex has traditionally been a taboo subject though some degree of debauchery may well have always been tolerated. Sex education in Spain is largely considered inadequate and is not a compulsory part of the curriculum nor is taught widely in schools.
