Chente Vince and his crew work hard to make sure you get the most for the modest price. We stayed for two weeks with our teenage kids in Buddha and Yucatan. It was just the best. Clean as a whistle and fun, just fun every day. Vince is the consummate host. He made sure that everything was perfect. We stayed for two weeks. The breakfast every morning was great. Each day there was a different set of fresh fruits.
The pastries came from a bakery down the street. Alberto and Pedro, the young men who take care of this beautiful hotel, are wonderful people. Vince arranged trips for us with Roberto and the trips were just as wonderful as the website said. The best was Uxmal.
Vince arranged for Antonio to be our guide at Uxmal. He was with us for two hours and explained everything. He is a Maya guy and a professor. We really hope that every one we love can have the same experience. It seems to us that Einstein was Maya. There is such an overlap in the Maya understanding of the space--time continuum and the fuzzy-headed guy from Ulm. The food is great. The peace is palpable. Thank you St Vince for tking care of all of us. Flush the Prozac.
Go to Merida. Our stay at Casa Santiago was just wonderful. Our room was immaculate and welcoming. The grounds and the two pools were well groomed and enchanting. What a treat to return to lounge in the pool after a busy day seeing so many sights. We were offered transportation and a guide, Roberto, which we used and enjoyed to the utmost. He, was so knowledgeable and no question or desire was left unattended or unanswered. We had a shopping guide, Mario, who steered us away from tourist traps and protected our interests wherever we went, bargaining in our behalf.
The host and owner Frank, was a wealth of information and the Manager, Vince, was gracious and so accomodating. Can't wait to return next year. We even managed to get in a luxurious massage on the premises. Sometimes people think that hotels are only one more place to relax like any other, but when I stayed at Casa Santiago I realized that Casa Santiago is a different place all together, I felt very comfortable and well taken care of my stay there was pleasant after a long journey.
